PLYMOUTH boss Derek Adams praised his goalkeeper Kyle Letheren as they earned a point at Bradford. Adams said: ‘It was important,’ referring to a key save which kept out Eoin Doyle.

IVAN TONEY struck his 19th of the season as Peterborou­gh snatched victory late on. It was Darren Ferguson’s first win of his third spell as the visitors’ manager and he said: ‘It’s a big win for us.’

BARNSLEY 2 WYCOMBE 1

BARNSLEY strengthen­ed their grip on second spot thanks to two goals from Cauley Woodrow (right). Their head coach Daniel Stendel said: ‘We tried to score in every situation, but I think we have not had our best day. We seemed to be a little bit tired.’

Wycombe had skipper Adam El-Abd sent-off deep into stoppage time, just before Joe Jacobson stepped up to net a consolatio­n penalty.

AMADOU BAKAYOKO and Jordy Hiwula scored against their former club, before Bright Enobakhare added a third from the spot for Coventry. Boss Mark Robins said: ‘We can enjoy this.’

SOUTHEND 3 PORTSMOUTH 3

SIMON COX (right) hit a hat-trick to earn Southend a point after they had trailed 3-0 thanks to goals from Bryn Morris, Ben Close and Oli Hawkins. The hosts’ manager Chris Powell said: ‘Coxy has been great. He’s taken on the mantle of leading by example and took his goals really well.’

Meanwhile Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett added: ‘To be 3-0 up and not win is disappoint­ing.’
