BRISTOL R 1 LUTON 2

FIRST-HALF goals from James Collins and Luke Berry (right) were enough for Luton to extend their lead at the top of the table. But it was the defensive display which pleased boss Mick Harford, who said: ‘Our defensive shape was spot on and we put in a really gritty performance. All the players know their roles inside out and enjoy our style of play. I give my lads credit for grinding it out.’ Jonson Clarke-Harris pulled one back for Rovers.

SOUTHEND 0 SHREWSBURY 2

A CHANGE of management failed to spark Southend into life. They parted company with Chris Powell in the week with Ricky Duncan named as caretaker boss, but he saw Fejiri Okenabirhie and Luke Waterfall win it for Shrewsbury.

ACCRINGTON 0 FLEETWOOD 1

FLEETWOOD boss Joey Barton was angry at Twitter remarks by Stanley chairman Andy Holt. He said: ‘He talked about our budget – that’s disrespectful.’ Harry Souttar got the only goal.

SCUNTHORPE 1 WIMBLEDON 2

JAMES HANSON’S first-half double gave Wimbledon’s survival hopes a shot in the arm, despite Joe Pigott having an early penalty saved by Jak Alnwick. Lee Novak pulled one back for fellow strugglers Scunthorpe.

BLACKPOOL 2 PLYMOUTH 2

CURTIS TILT hit a stunning overhead kick as play-off chasing Blackpool rescued a point. Freddie Ladapo and Ryan Edwards scored for Plymouth but Marc Bola and Tilt replied.

OXFORD 2 WYCOMBE 1

JOSH RUFFELS fired a crucial stoppage-time winner from 25 yards as Oxford came from behind to win. Adam El-Abd put Wycombe ahead but Joe Jacobson missed a penalty after Jerome Sinclair had equalised.

CHARLTON 1 BRADFORD 0

LEE BOWYER felt Charlton were wasteful in front of goal, saying: ‘We can’t keep dominating games and not taking chances. We should have been out of sight.’ Lyle Taylor got the goal.

GILLINGHAM 1 ROCHDALE 1

ROCHDALE remain in the relegation zone despite extending their unbeaten run to four games. Top scorer Ian Henderson put them ahead with his sixth goal in five games, but Mark Byrne earned a point for Gillingham.

DONCASTER 3 WALSALL 1

DONCASTER made a flying start as a John Marquis penalty and Mallik Wilks goal had them 2-0 up inside four minutes. Josh Gordon pulled one back, but Danny Andrew sealed the win.

BARNSLEY 2 COVENTRY 2

SECOND-placed Barnsley were held at home by play-off chasing Coventry, to the frustration of boss Daniel Stendel. He said: ‘We didn’t defend so well. It’s a draw, OK, but we wanted to win this game so we are disappointed. It’s a big time in the season.’ Barnsley were ahead twice through Alex Mowatt and Cauley Woodrow (above), but were pegged back by goals from Jordy Hiwula and Luke Thomas.
