Revealed: Secret showdown that split the Fab Four

-

IT HAS baffled Royal watchers for months, but I have finally unearthed the real reason for the sudden break-up of the ‘Fab Four’.

Harry and Meghan’s split with William and Kate all began with a ‘showdown’ in the days that followed last year’s Royal Wedding, I can now reveal.

According to my trusted source, things kicked off when Harry decided Meghan hadn’t been offered enough support by William and Kate in the lead-up to the wedding, so he booked in a particular time – after the Cambridge children had gone to bed – to go and ‘read them the riot act’, no less.

The encounter took William and Kate completely by surprise – particularly as Meghan was there but remained stony silent throughout.

The Cambridges assured Harry they were happy to offer more support to Meghan.

To bring the message home, the diplomatic Duchess of Cambridge popped in on the newlyweds the following day with a bunch of flowers – and the visit eventually resulted in her and Meghan agreeing to go to Wimbledon together. Apparently, snarkier members of the Meghan court were quick to note that a trip to Wimbledon isn’t as special for Meghan as most people, since she can get tickets any time she likes from her close friend Serena Williams.

However, the two women did attend the tournament, although commentators detected a frostiness between them. Their appearance at Wimbledon this year was somewhat chummier. But then, Royal appearances can be deceiving, can’t they? My sources tell me that despite the duchessess’ efforts at making peace, the two families have continued to grow apart. The result, as we now know, is the complete division of their respective households, courts and charitable endeavours.

Last night sources close to both couples were understandably keen to deny any knowledge of a row.

But I’m still waiting for that big Fab Four reunion...
