It’s nonsensical to say that because these people are against guns being used to commit acts of criminal violence, they can’t attend a party held by one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of guns. I’m seriously against social media and the damage it has done to human kind, but I still use the internet. For once I have to say that this group of celebrities are on the right side of a controversy. Name and address supplied

The fact that some people use guns illegally is not down to manufacturers. It is for the world’s governments to pass suitable laws and see they are obeyed. It would be nice to not need guns but sadly the world is not perfect. B. Patrick, London
