Give kids freedom from fear
Last week you reported that former Girlguiding leader Katie Alcock plans to sue the organisation after her appeal against expulsion failed. Ms Alcock appears to object to leaders not being permitted to advise parents if a child identifies as trans+. All organisations involved with child welfare are legally obliged to operate a safeguarding policy, including a child being able to confide in a leader without fear that trust will be betrayed. Keeley-Jasmine Cavendish, London Ms Alcock is making a principled stand on a very serious matter.
