WILL LAMPARD UNSHACKLE KANTE FROM SARRI’S SORRY SYSTEM?

FRANK LAMPARD has already shown more flexibility than his predecessor Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian stuck with his favoured 4-3-3 formation in every Premier League game last season with Jorginho as the only defensive midfielder.

That left N’Golo Kante, the best tackling midfielder in the world, pushed forward into an unnatural position on the right.

Lampard has experimented in pre-season but has preferred to use a 4-2-3-1 formation, even though he won just five of the 19 games with that system at Derby. If Kante passes a late fitness test today, he could be back where he belongs.
