How manager made a difference

BRIGHTON now use three at the back. We all know about the Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy double act. That was the foundation of Chris Hughton’s team. Well now we can add Dan Burn to that. He fitted in nicely here as the Seagulls kicked off their season with a clean sheet.

DALE Stephens and Davy Propper were far more attacking than usual. Propper set up the goal scored by Florin Andone from a position we wouldn’t normally associate with him. That is Potter’s doing. The manager has also told his defence to push further forward, in a bid to have them be more aggressive and attack-minded.

PASS, pass, pass will become the norm for Brighton. The likes of Troy Deeney and Andre Gray were chasing ghosts at times here. Sure, when Brighton were trying to pass it out from the back, you winced because you feared they would be robbed of the ball. Brighton aren’t Manchester City, after all. But it worked well here.
