Sterling goal stands

THIS time City do go 3-0 up — and it’s another gem of a move.

Riyad Mahrez is the architect 10 yards outside the box from where he clips the ball onto the toe of Sterling, who has charged into the box. West Ham players all have their arms up but assistant referee Darren Cann doesn’t, keeping his flag down.

Sterling’s celebrations are muted because he knows what’s coming.

And Sterling does look offside on the initial TV replay — but it all changes when the hawkeye lines are applied. Again it’s the width of a shirt.

CHRIS FOY’S VERDICT

IT’S a brilliant decision by Darren Cann. It’s quick and it’s close but once again it’s spot on. It’s VAR working.
