FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper accused referee Andy Haines of ruining the game despite Joseph Mills’ goal earning victory. They had Matt Mills sent off and Cooper said of the ref: ‘He lost control, which caused animosity. He ruined the game for both teams.’

CAMBRIDGE UTD 1 OLDHAM 2

OLDHAM took advantage of slack Cambridge defending to secure a first win of the season thanks to David Wheater’s header after Urko Vera’s opener. Marc Richards replied but Cambridge were left to rue missed chances.

CARLISLE 2 SALFORD 2

CARLISLE ended a three-game losing run. Olufela Olomola and Stefan Scougall were on target, with Emmanuel Dieseruvwe and a Daniel Whitehead penalty earning Salford a point.

CHELTENHAM 2 SWINDON 2

CHELTENHAM hit back from behind twice against 10-man Swindon. Eoin Doyle scored both Swindon goals, but they were pegged back by Chris Hussey and Luke Varney. Michael Doughty saw red for Swindon.

COLCHESTER 1 N’HAMPTON 0

LUKE NORRIS earned Colchester’s first league win of the season, and head coach John McGreal said: ‘I thought we thoroughly deserved it. We got the rub of the green.’

GRIMSBY 5 PORT VALE 2

A FIVE-STAR display saw Grimsby chalk up their first home win of the league season and break Port Vale’s unbeaten run. Jordan Cook, Moses Ogbu, Luke Waterfall, Matt Green and James Hanson were all on target for the home side.

LEYTON ORIENT 2 CRAWLEY 3

SUB Ollie Palmer scored twice within three minutes as Crawley twice came from behind. Josh Wright was also on target, with Nathan Ferguson and Lee Angol, from the spot, replying.

MACCLESFIE­LD 1 SCUNTHORPE 0

JOE IRONSIDE’S second-half penalty was enough to give Daryl McMahon his first win as Macclesfie­ld manager, and he said: ‘I’m delighted to get the win and the clean sheet, which is massively positive for us as well.’

MANSFIELD 0 STEVENAGE 0

MANSFIELD boss John Dempster rued his side’s missed opportunit­ies and said: ‘It is frustratin­g to keep a clean sheet and not win. We had plenty of chances.’

MORECAMBE 2 EXETER 3

A LATE goal from Nicky Law saw Exeter move to the top of the table. Jake Taylor and Lee Martin had them 2-0 up before a Lewis Alessandra double for Morecambe, who had Sam Lavelle sent off late on.

NEWPORT C 1 CREWE 0

NEWPORT snatched victory thanks to a last-gasp winner from Padraig Amond and boss Michael Flynn admitted: I’ll always be honest, Crewe were a lot better than us.’

PLYMOUTH 3 WALSALL 0

PLYMOUTH boss Ryan Lowe ignored the table as his side went second. ‘Tables aren’t important in the first month,’ he said. Ryan Taylor scored twice and the other came from Antoni Sarcevic, who was later sent off.
