Moment Moura was told he was out of the final

PEP GUARDIOLA has praised Raheem Sterling for handling the intensity of his own management methods

Sterling has flourished in Guardiola’s three years as manager at Manchester City, including scoring four times in two games this season, before today’s trip to Bournemouth.

‘It’s good when a player has an understanding of what we want to do as a group,’ Guardiola said. ‘He is becoming one incredible, exceptional player.’ LUCAS MOURA sat with the rest of his Tottenham team-mates in their Madrid hotel when Mauricio Pochettino revealed the starting line-up for the Champions League final.

Moura did not know what was coming. And why would he? He had not been told in advance. He was in, wasn’t he? Had to be.

It had been his heroics that fired Spurs into the final in the first place. But Harry Kane was back from injury and he go the nod. Moura was a sub.

‘When he gave the starting team I was a little bit sad,’ said Moura. ‘Of course I was sad inside. I wanted to play. But I know how to understand, respect.

‘The important thing is to win. The coach can choose only 11 players. I don’t have a problem with this.

‘I believed we’d win. We had opportunities to score. I cried, but after I took my shower I was proud of us.’

ITALIAN side Fiorentina are hoping to land Liverpool teenager Bobby Duncan.

They have made an offer to take the 18year-old on loan and it’s understood that Duncan is keen to join them in Serie A.

He has removed links to Liverpool from his social media — a clear indication of his intention to sever ties with the club.

The striker — who is Steven Gerrard’s cousin — is said to be one of the Anfield academy’s brightest talents.
