SWINDON-born Forest Green captain Joseph Mills grabbed a stoppage-time goal, his second fo the game, to salvage a point in a compelling West Country derby. Eoin Doyle (above) had earlier scored for the 10th consecutiv­e game as his double put Swindon in pole position. Swindon manager Richie Wellens insisted his side had chances to put the game to bed, saying: ‘We could have come in three or four up. It was an excellent performanc­e, two well-taken goals.’

EXETER 3 WALSALL 3

EXETER and Walsall served up a Christmas cracker as the home side came back from 3-0 doiwn thanks to two goals by Ryan Bowman and the equaliser from Lee Martin.

STEVENAGE 1 CREWE 5

FIVE-STAR Crewe soared into the automatic promotion places. Chuma Anene scored twice, Oliver Finney and Daniel Powell were also on target and Stevenage’s misery was complete when Scott Cuthbert put through his own goal.

BRADFORD 1 SALFORD 1

SUBSTITUTE Adam Rooney rescued a point for Salford to thwart promotion contenders Bradford. Harry Pritchard had given Bradford a deserved lead early in the second half.

PORT VALE 1 CHELTENHAM 1

PORT VALE’S search for a first league win since mid-November continues after they were held at home. Alex Addai gave Cheltenham the lead, but Vale rescued a point thanks to Ben Tozer’s own goal.

CAMBRIDGE 2 L ORIENT 3

LEYTON ORIENT ended a 10-match winless streak as Jamie Turley, Josh Wright and Jordan Maguire-Drew gave them a 3-0 half-time lead. Jack Roles and Sam Smith replied.

OLDHAM 2 CRAWLEY 1

FRENCH midfielder Mohammed Maouche hit the winner as Oldham came from behind. Lewis Young had given visitors Crawley the lead, but Oldham skipper David Wheater levelled before Maouche had the final word.

COLCHESTER 3 CARLISLE 0

COLCHESTER romped to an impressive win. A Nathanial Knight-Percival own-goal set them on their way and there were further goals from Callum Harriott and Cohen Bramall.

MORECAMBE 2 NEWPORT 1

NEWPORT boss Mike Flynn blasted his players, saying: ‘I’m massively disappoint­ed. The second-half performanc­e was a disgrace.’ Joss Labadie put them in front but Cole Stockton and John O’Sullivan hit back.

GRIMSBY 0 SCUNTHORPE 1

GRIMSBY caretaker boss Anthony Limbrick insisted they should have had a penalty when Moses Ogbu went down. ‘How they missed that, I don’t know,’ he said. Kevin van Veen won it.

MANSFIELD 1 NORTHAMPTO­N 1

GRAHAM Coughlan’s hope of winning his first game as Mansfield manager were ruined by an 84th-minute Harry Smith equaliser for Northampto­n, which wiped out Andy Cook’s opener for the home side.
