HOLLYWOOD star Tom Hanks made a joyful return to the US yesterday after self-isolating with coronavirus for three weeks in Australia.
The actor was photographed smiling with wife Rita Wilson – who was also struck down with the illness – as they stepped off a private jet in Los Angeles.
Their recovery came as Spanish opera singer Placido Domingo, 79, was reportedly admitted to hospital in Acapulco, Mexico, after testing positive for Covid19, although reports said ‘ the most critical part of the disease’ had already passed.
Hanks and his wife were the first celebrities to go public with their virus battle.
The actor was shooting a film about Elvis Presley when he was taken ill.
The couple, both aged 63, shared numerous updates with fans during their self-quarantine. In his last tweet, Hanks said: ‘Hey, folks. Two weeks after our first symptoms and we feel better.’
Now t hey’re back home in America, they will have to comply with California’s ‘shelter at home’ order.
