THURSDAY The Forum: Ray Bradbury World Service, 10am

A hundred years after his birth, an exploratio­n of the work of Ray Bradbury, who brought modern science fiction to a wider audience. As well as penning such classics as the dystopian Fahrenheit 451, where books are banned and burned, he also created novels, poems, TV scripts and popular short stories.

FRIDAY Cr owdScience: What Makes Slugs So Slimy?, World Service, 8.30pm

This does what it says on the admittedly slippery tin, revealing how to deal with the sticky stuff, the way slug goop is being turned into medically useful glues and antibacter­ial creams, and its importance to life on Earth in general.

SATURDAY Derm ot O’Lear y Rad io 2, 8am

The presenter’s guest is Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan, who found fame playing a serial killer in TV’s The Fall. He’s also appeared in Once Upon A Time and the Fifty Shades franchise, and here talks about his latest romantic movie, Endings, Beginnings.
