Boy wonder from Norway now on his way to Ole’s United

MANCHESTER UNITED have signed Norwegian prospect Isak Hansen-Aaroen from Tromso.

Hansen-Aaroen became Tromso’s youngest player when he appeared for their first team in July aged 15 years and 319 days.

United agreed a deal to sign him last year and formally confirmed the deal after he turned 16 yesterday.

The teenage forward has also had trials with Everton and Liverpool prior to United agreeing terms as part of a longer-term project with the Norwegian club.

Hansen-Aaroen will become the first Norwegian to sign for United since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as manager, with the youngster expected to feature for the Under-18s this season.

Hansen-Aaroen, right, made six substitute appearances for Tromso, who are top of the league in Norway, and has three caps for Norway Under-16s.

Tromso confirmed: ‘A wonderful person, a unique talent, who just loves to play football. ‘From Flora to TIL as a junior, into the academy as a 10-year-old, learns at the TIL school and debuts for the first team as a 15-year-old and assists in his last match for Tromso. ‘Thank you so much for the last 10 years and good luck at United and on in your career. We hope you have a great time.’ Meanwhile former Manchester United defender Danny Simpson is searching for a new club and could join Stoke following his acrimonious departure from Huddersfield. The right-back left the Terriers on June 30 after his deal was not extended to cover the rest of the Championship campaign. The 33-year-old expressed his dissatisfaction with what he called ‘a very unprofessional’ handling of his situation. Stoke are among the clubs to have shown an interest in Simpson, who won the Premier League with Leicester in 2016.
