Ah, the musical that so comprehensively divided critics from the cinemagoing public. The former mostly hated it, the latter – at least the part that like musicals – loved it, won over by Hugh Jackman’s (above centre) tuneful turn as the US circus impresario P. T. Barnum and a supporting cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya.
