The trouble with the Donald Trump story is that even the most astonishing chapters from previous years keep on being overshadowed by more recent events. Still, the incredible line-up of interview subjects in this documentary series ensures that it remains highly watchable.

The second episode looks back to the Stormy Daniels affair. Trump (right) seemed securely established in the White House, but suddenly was threatened by scandal when it emerged that the porn star had been paid ‘hush money’ to keep quiet about her one-night stand with the president. Trump was accused of breaking federal law in making the payment.

The tawdry tale may seem ludicrously trivial compared to the pandemic and widespread unrest in the US now, but the formidable Daniels remains a force to be reckoned with.
