Created by Torleif Hoppe, one of the writers behind The Killing and Those Who Kill, this eight-part crime thriller was among Denmark’s most popular series of 2019 and now joins the long list of Scandinavian dramas on BBC4.

Anders W. Berthelsen (right) stars as Rolf Larsen, a respected criminal investigator on the Copenhagen police force, whose seemingly perfect life comes crashing down when his baby daughter goes missing. Five years after the tragedy, a new lead emerges when a flaw is uncovered in the Danish police’s national DNA register.

Realising that his daughter may still be alive, Rolf tries to find out what really happened to her by investigating a parallel case with ties to an international childtrafficking ring. He receives help from Claire Bobin (Charlotte Rampling), a seasoned French detective who happens to be working on a similar case.
