Turn Left for BBC jobs

Further to your article about the BBC’s spending on The Guardian and The Observer newspapers ahead of all other titles, when I worked in broadcasting it used to be the case that BBC jobs were only advertised externally in The Guardian.

I don’t know if this was because staff were predominantly Left-leaning or if it explains the politics of those they recruited. I wonder if this practice continues?
