Put your helmet on, Jeremy!
Jeremy Vine’s article last week typifies the sense of entitlement held by many cyclists. Your picture (below) showed him riding what appeared to be a small-wheeled bike, one of the most unstable vehicles on the road. He has earphones in, so he can’t hear cars. And where’s his helmet? It should be on his head.

Like many keen cyclists, Vine looks at roadplanning issues from the wrong end of the telescope. Less than four per cent of journeys are by bike. If any political party tried to ban cars, it would lose every seat. Jon Cooper, Portsmouth
