Leaked on Facebook . . . William and Kate Christmas card lit up by laughing Louis

HE MIGHT be the smallest member of the family, but there is no mistaking that Prince Louis has the biggest grin in this delightful picture.

The two-year-old laughs as he is photographed on a hay bale for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s family Christmas card. Big brother George, seven, wears a £12 Regatta fleece top as he leans against his father, while five-year-old Charlotte, in a £110 Ralph Lauren sweater, sits on Mum’s lap.

The picture is believed to have been taken at the Cambridges’ Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, where the family spent much of this year during lockdown. Its festive wintry setting, with the log store in the background, marks a change from last year’s Christmas card where all the family were pictured in summer clothes.

The card was posted on a recipient’s Facebook page, and included a handwritten message from Prince William. Alongside the printed message ‘Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year,’ he wrote: ‘To all the amazing NHS staff. We can never thank you enough for all the dedication and sacrifices you have had to make this year. We will be forever grateful.’ He and Kate have both signed the card – the Duchess with her full name Catherine.

Royal cards traditionally feature a previously seen photograph, but the Cambridges often use specially shot family pictures. On Friday, the family enjoyed a performance of Pantoland at the London Palladium to thank key workers and their families.
