Brave Keira’s timely warning

Sarah Vine speaks wisely on the dangers of transitioning. I sympathise with those who suffer from gender dysphoria, but it has been proved that the majority of youngsters who are unsure of their identity grow out of it.

Brave Keira Bell challenged her treatment in the High Court. Unfortunately it was too late for her but it should be a warning to all parents, clinicians and young people of the dangers of irreversible transgender treatment.

I strongly believe we should support young people to accept their bodies as they are. As a child I was desperate to be a boy – I’m so glad I learned it was OK to be a girl who is strong and plays with stereotypically boys’ toys.
