Sports Personality Of The Year 2020

-

BBC1, 8pm A year of sport like none before ends in traditional style – with the announcing of the Sports Personality from a shortlist of six. Gabby Logan, Alex Scott, Gary Lineker and Clare Balding (right) look back over 2020 from Media City UK in Salford.

Lewis Hamilton is odds-on after breaking the record for the number of Grand Prix victories. But Liverpool fans will vote for Jordan Henderson after he captained the side to its first league victory in 30 years. Aged 45, Ronnie O’Sullivan proved he’s as good as ever, winning his sixth world title. England’s Stuart Broad now belongs among cricket’s immortals after passing 500 Test wickets. Tyson Fury has captivated boxing with his idiosyncratic personality, while jockey Hollie Doyle was the first woman to claim five winners on one card. Don’t discount any of them pipping Hamilton on the night.
