Two dead as blaze wrecks farmhouse

TWO people died in a Christmas Day blaze at a remote farmhouse.

The building was destroyed in the fire which was not discovered until yesterday morning.

Emergency services found two bodies at the farmhouse near the Sussex village of West Chiltington.

Police were last night continuing their investigation into the blaze, which is believed to have broken out on Friday.

A police spokesman said: ‘Emergency services received a report of a significant fire at 9.10am. Fire engines arrived quickly at the scene. The road has been closed as emergency services continue to work together.

‘Two people have sadly been confirmed deceased at the scene.’
