Hit-and-run murder hunt

MURDER detectives are investigating the death of a man thought to have been hit by a car deliberately.

Paramedics alerted police yesterday after the 28-year-old was found in Birmingham with serious head injuries just before 6am.

The unnamed victim died a short time later.

West Midlands Police officers said that after knocking the man down on purpose, the driver fled the scene in Coton Lane, Erdington.

Detective Sergeant Nick Barnes, of the force’s homicide team, said: ‘A family have lost a loved one and we need to find out what took place and who is responsible.

‘I’d urge anyone who witnessed anything, or anyone with any information or dashcam footage, to get in touch.’
