Landscape Artist Of The Year Wednesday, Sky Arts, 8pm
Some competition shows are more about the taking part than the business of winning, and d so it is with Landscape Artist Of The Year, back for its sixth run. Just as with the channel’s recent Portrait Artist Of The Year series, the delight for viewers is seeing the painters at work, regardless of who is chosen to go through. Still, there is a substantial prize for the eventual winner: a commission worth £10,000 from the National Trust. Joan Bakewell and Stephen Mangan are back presenting, with art historian Kate Bryan (above), curator Kathleen Soriano and artist Tai-Shan Schierenberg giving their verdict on the landscapes completed each week.
