This engrossing drama was a labour of love for Warren Beatty (above), who co-wrote the screenplay, won an Oscar for directing it, produced the film and takes the lead role. It focuses on real-life communist John Reed’s experiences during the Russian Revolution of 1917 and his relationship with writer Louise Bryant (Diane Keaton).
