MARK TRUEMAN believed Bradford put in a good performanc­e on their return to action. Their draw at Cambridge extended their unbeaten run to six games under interim bosses Trueman and Conor Sellars. ‘It’s our job to match that every week,’ Trueman said.

Mark Bonner was pleased to see his Cambridge players extend their own unbeaten run to five. ‘You can tell they’ve got a renewed belief,’ he said.

NEWPORT skipper Joss Labadie was red-carded after 15 minutes as Michael Flynn’s side went down at Oldham. The boss said: ‘He’s let all his team-mates down.’ Davis Keillor-Dunn, Bobby Grant and Mickey Demetriou own goal secured the points for the hosts, with Dylan Bahamboula also missing a late penalty. Jake Scrimshaw and Luke Gambin scored for the visitors.

NICKY CADDEN scored the only goal as promotion-chasing Forest Green picked up their first win in five matches. Their manager Mark Cooper picked out his matchwinne­r for special praise. ‘Nicky Cadden worked exceptiona­lly hard and was rewarded with his goal,’ he said. The home side ended up with 10 men after Dan Happe was shown a second yellow card.

MORECAMBE boss Derek Adams was full of praise for his players after they moved up to sixth in the table. Goals from Adam Phillips, Toumani Diagouraga and John O’Sullivan gave the hosts the points, and Adams said: ‘We passed the ball well on a difficult surface and our link up play and understand­ing of each other got us into really good areas.’

EXETER boss Matt Taylor praised his ‘resolute’ side after goals from Archie Collins, Matt Jay and Ryan Bowman earned the points. Elliott List replied for Stevenage, with assistant manager Dean Wilkins saying they were ‘bogged down’.

TRANMERE 2 BOLTON 1

KEITH HILL said he was a ‘true believer in rock and roll football’ after his Tranmere side made it back-to-back wins. Danny Lloyd and James Vaughan scored early in either half for Tranmere, with Antoni Sarcevic getting Bolton back in it. Ryan Delaney also saw red for the visitors.

LEADING SCORER Elijah Adebayo struck twice to give Walsall a much-needed victory. David Fitzpatric­k’s calamitous own goal made it three, while Tom Conlon replied for Vale.

PAUL HURST branded his Grimsby side ‘embarrassi­ng’ after they were easily beaten at neighbours Scunthorpe. Abo Eisa’s brace and one from Ryan Loft earned the hosts their biggest home victory of the season.

JAMIE REID fired Mansfield to a fifth successive win. First-team coach Andy Garner praised the scorer. ‘We’ve always told him goals will come because of the hard work he’s put in,’ he said.
