How the new European Super League will work

A single 36-team league with sides playing just ten games against selected opponents based on seedings.

Top 12 will qualify automatically for the last 16, which is expected to be unchanged from the current format.

The remaining four slots will go to winners of a mid-winter, play-off tournament, probably involving eight sides.
