BBC takes down ‘100 gender’ film
BBC bosses were accused of being ‘incredibly disingenuous’ after blaming the media for their decision to remove an educational video which told children there are 100 gender identities.
The controversial video was taken down two days after The Mail on Sunday reported that it featured on the Corporation’s website as part of its relationships and sex education package.
Following complaints, the BBC chose to ‘ retire the film’ and blamed the media for ‘wilfully misrepresenting’ the material.
But Tanya Carter, of the Safe Schools Alliance, said the BBC was ‘incredibly disingenuous’, adding: ‘If they are going to produce content for children, they have a responsibility to ensure that it is factually accurate.’
