Don’t suffer ear trouble in silence

-

I OFTEN receive letters from readers who are suffering dizzy spells and difficulties with balance but seem to be struggling through life without a proper diagnosis.

In many cases, those affected are middle- aged women who, sadly, feel their problems aren’t being taken entirely seriously. A lot of these people also tell me there has been a change in their hearing, which would indicate a common cause: problems with the inner ear.

The t i ny bones and other structures inside the ear don’t just help us hear, they also contain fluid and a network of nerves that tell the body which way up it is, and so are vital for our sense of balance.

An ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist will be able to offer a proper diagnosis, so getting a referral is a vital step.

Are you suffering from these kinds of problems, but not getting the right help? Write to me, because I want to know.
