Musicals: The Greatest Show Radio 2, 8pm

Sheridan Smith (right) presents a celebration of the nation’s favourite songs from musicals. There will also be exclusive performances, including uding a new version of I Know Him So Well from Chess by Amanda Holden and Smith herself.

Drama On 3: The Brummie Iliad (Radio 3, 7.30pm) is an unusual take on Homer’s poem about the Trojan War, featuring actors using Birmingham accents. Among them are Annette Badland and Kevin McNally.

In Elvis McGonagall: Full Tartan Jacket (Radio 4, 7.15pm) the comic and poet pulls no punches while giving his assessment of the past 12 months.
