A decade after the original Life In A Day, film-maker Kevin Macdonald returns to the format with his editing team facing the task of choosing the best bits from more than 300,000 video submissions recording what people from all over the world were doing on a single day last year – July 25. Obviously Covid19 provides a relentless backdrop but there’s so much more. There are births, proposals and weddings; playful pets, cooking and a South Korean boy on a respirator (above). But as we hurtle from Black Lives Matter protests to trenchant Trump supporters, what emerges is a powerful mix of poignancy, joy and, er, goats. YouTube, available now
