THE vaccination rollout programme is in overdrive, with almost 90 per cent of over-80s inoculated. Three million people were given a jab in the past week alone. Last night, the total number having had a first dose stood at 11,465,210 – the most in any European country by far. Ministers are increasingly confident of hitting the target of vaccinating the country’s 15 million most vulnerable people by mid-February, when plans can start for lockdown restrictions to be eased. The next milestone will be to vaccinate everyone over 50 by early May.
