The Mail on Sunday

Kindness galore from Bond star Honor

-

I read with great interest in last week’s Mail on Sunday how kind and generous Honor Blackman had been in the sharing of her will. She was indeed a great actress: the iconic Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, the best Bond movie ever.

Her bequests to seven charities was a wonderful gesture and shows her interest in raising funds for much-needed research.

One of those charities is close to my heart: the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

My lovely 67-year-old husband has primary progressive multiple sclerosis and this dreadful disease has taken his life away, leaving him disabled and housebound. There is no cure.

Honor’s gift of £10,000 will, I’m sure, be gratefully received by the MS Society, and while it is too late for my husband, its research into a cure and medication to relieve the symptoms will be helped by this generous donation.

Her adopted children, friends and stars, who brought happiness and laughter into her life, will now know their support was indeed appreciated.

God bless. Rest in peace, Honor Blackman.
