Please tread carefully, Boris
THE Prime Minister said last week that he wants this lockdown to be our last – and I’m with him.
A lockdown avoids the disaster of hospitals flooded with Covid patients, but that’s traded for pain and suffering of a different kind. We will be living with the consequences of pandemic measures, in terms of damage to health, for years to come.
This time, the priority – aside from opening schools – must be keeping infections to minimal levels.
The vaccine will play a role in this, but we don’t know how much yet. So – and I say this with the weariest of hearts – we must be extremely cautious in lifting restrictions. Rushing to open up could jeopardise everything we’ve fought for. But I’d like to know what you think. Write to me and tell me.
