Scandal of our missing parcels

-

I was appalled to see your feature last week about lost post being auctioned, especially as there could be personal items involved.

I know of two packages that did not reach me.

One was from a charity I have been involved with for a number of years, and staff there had worked to put together a personal thank-you as I was having to take a step back because of health issues. The other involved a parcel from a cancer charity that sends out kits to help those who cope with a cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy and other treatments. When I got in touch to say it had not arrived, I was told others had had the same problem and that I would be sent another. Everything in these kits is either donated by companies or by donations made to the charity, and charities are suffering enough through not being able to have their usual fundraisers.

I had hoped that as things got back to normal, the backlog might be delivered, and my parcels might still surface. There are plenty of people who could be taken on to help.
