Twisty drama at the heart of a new Disney channel

BIG SKY

-

Star is a new channel housed under the Disney+ banner. It will carry programming aimed at adults, rather than the family or younger viewer content with which the Disney brand is principally associated. As well as offering a collection of classics such as The X-Files, Lost, 24 and Modern Family, it’s also launching with some originals. Big Sky is a crime thriller from David E. Kelley featuring Ryan Phillippe, right. When two young sisters go missing on a remote highway, a detective and her former friend – an ex-cop – who have fallen out over a man join forces to investigate. There’s a twist at the end of the first episode but this falls short of Kelley’s usual standard. More promising is Solar Opposites, a daft animated comedy from the creators of Rick And Morty about a group of aliens trapped on Earth in suburban America. Star channel launches on Disney+, from Tuesday
