Sherlock Holmes had his pipe, Hercules Poirot sported a fine moustache, while Miss Marple was rarely seen without a hat.

Now to their number can be added DS Dodds (Jason Watkins) and his trademark anorak, as the geeky detective is again paired with DCI Lauren McDonald (Tala Gouveia, right with Watkins) to battle crime in the elegant surroundings of Bath, after last year’s successful debut.

In this week’s opener to the three-part series a group of five old friends takes to the skies for what should be a fun-filled ride in a hot-air balloon. Unfortunately, only four of them come back down to earth alive, with the other one the victim of either a tragic accident – or murder.

A terrific cast including Rob Brydon, Rupert Graves and Cathy Tyson lights up a feature-length story that will keep you entertained to the end.
