Dave Allen Live: On Life BBC2, 10pm

To mark the 50th anniversary of the debut of the seminal series Dave Allen At Large, this programme shines a light on the much-missed Irish funnyman (above). It features some of Allen’s favourite monologues, all performed while perched on a stool with his trademark whisky in hand. It’s preceded by another chance to see Dave Allen: The Immaculate Selection at 9pm.
