Boss denies he is off to join the NHS
HEATHROW chief executive John Holland- Kaye has been forced to deny that he is stepping down to join the NHS. Rumours are swirling that Heathrow has hired headhunters to find a successor to Holland- Kaye after a seven-year tenure. But in a blog to staff this month, seen by The Mail on Sunday, the airport chief wrote: ‘One thing I heard in the terminals last week – a security officer colleague asked me ifit was true that I was going to the NHS? Absolutely not! ‘I am staying right here. We are in this together and we will get through it together.’ Heathrow is collaborating with the NHS Test and Trace programme – which is being led by Baroness Harding – on a pilottesting scheme. The project could be used to help the Government roll out mass testing right across the whole country. Holland-Kaye joined Heathrow in 2009 and was made chief executive in 2014 after overseeing the construction of Terminals 2 and 5.
