Return To Dunblane With Lorraine Kelly

-

ITV, 9pm

No story has had a bigger impact on Lorraine Kelly (right) than the Dunblane massacre 25 years ago. As a reporter for GMTV, she was sent to the Scottish town soon after gunman Thomas Hamilton had murdered 16 children and their teacher in cold blood before taking his own life.

The experience of meeting bereaved families and survivors there had a deep effect on Kelly and, having kept in contact with the people of Dunblane, she returns to hear how they have managed to survive and recover from the awful events of 1996.

Their stories are filled with horror but are also testimony to the strength of the human spirit in the face of huge adversity, as Kelly learns how grief-stricken relatives helped reform Britain’s gun laws and ensured no other community in this country would ever have to suffer as they did.
