Lingard did not come off injured, says Moyes

-

DAVID MOYES saw his West Ham side self-destruct in their bid to clinch a Champions League place, but at least had good news about his in-form star Jesse Lingard, who came off before the end with an apparent injury.

The on- loan England forward scored an equaliser from t he penalty spot as the 10- man Hammers fought back from 2-0 down, only to concede a late winner.

‘It was probably a chance lost to pick up some points,’ said Moyes. ‘But I was more disappointed with the last 10 minutes than any other part of the game.

‘They were two really poor goals we conceded in the first half but the bigger thing was the character of the players and the way they played with 10 men.

‘ So there is no drama but the disappointment would be, when we got back to 2-2, we couldn’t see the last little bit out.’

Lingard, who now has nine goals for Moyes in 10 games, came off with three minutes to go but with the Hammers facing a crucial home clash with Chelsea on Saturday, his manager had good news.

And Mo yes insist she will continue using the Manchester United star as much as possible, despite Lingard facing a busy period for club and country.

‘It was just cramp, I don’t think it was anything serious,’ said Moyes. ‘Jessie is a really fit boy and he wants to play. I push all my players hard — I’ve never done anything else — and Jesse is no different.

‘ Jesse wont get any favoured treatment, especially from a Scotsman going into this summer’s Euros!’
