The sheer greed of the Big Six owners
The Big Six English clubs which tried to break away to form a European Super League are not guilty of anything. The blame for this farce must begin and end with h the owners. I will continue to love my football club, Liverpool, but any respect for the owners – John W. Henry and Fenway Sports Group – has now long gone.
I despise their systemic greed, their obsessions with maximising profit. They need to put the club up for sale and be gone.

Defend our heroes
Well done Johnny Mercer for resigning as Defence Minister. As a lifelong Conservative, I am disgusted that veterans who served in Northern Ireland are not to be protected from historical prosecution, after all the promises from our Government.
British people are crying out for p politicians who will stand up for British heroes.

Drive up standards
Suggestions that the Office for Students supports university policies which call for poor spelling and grammar to be disregarded in the assessment of students’ work are wide of the mark. Such policies are patronising to students and, as the independent regulator for higher education in England, we have not called for them, and nor do we back them. It’s really too much!
The recent series of MasterChef was most enjoyable, but use of the word ‘really’ was most prolific. During one episode it was used 71 times. Surely some of these could be edited out before the programme was broadcast.
