Tributes to shot Belize policeman
BELIZE police chief Henry Jemmott was described as a ‘giant of a man’ who loved ‘fun, family and friends’ at his funeral.
Hundreds of mourners, including Belize’s prime minister, yesterday paid their respects to the 42-year-old, who was shot dead on May 28 by Jasmine Hartin, the partner of Tory peer Lord Ashcroft’s son Andrew, in what she says was a tragic accident.
Supt Jemmott’s police colleagues formed a guard of honour and his friend ‘Panny’ Arce said: ‘He loved every day of his life, including his last.’
