There were only 13 episodes of this charming stop-motion animation, first broadcast in 1974, but the adventures of Bagpuss, Professor Yaffle, the mice of the ‘marvellous mechanical mouse organ’ and the other toys, as well as the music, have been firmly lodged in the collective memory since.
