As the hit show starts f ilming its last ever series, we reveal that star Sandra gets it in the neck again ...
KILLING EVE star Sandra Oh is caught in an embrace that leaves her breathless – quite literally when her date turns a tender kiss into a deadly choke-hold.
The encounter on a London park bench last week was being filmed for the fourth, and final, season of TV’s most stylish thriller.
Our exclusive pictures show Ms Oh’s character, MI6 agent Eve Polastri, kissing – then grappling with – an assassin before they both collapse in a desperate struggle.
The revelation that the psychopathic Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer, isn’t the only trained killer eager to get their hands on Eve is unlikely to come as a huge spoiler for fans of the show. And her wouldbe assassin here is played by hunky 33-year-old Shakespearean actor Robert Gilbert.
‘ They went to a great deal of trouble to ensure that the fight looked lifelike,’ said one onlooker at Millbank Gardens in Westminster on Thursday. ‘They had stunt doubles showing them how to do the proper strangleholds and then they choreographed them collapsing on the ground and fighting. They were filming all day.’
The third series of the BBC show left some viewers ‘in tears’ after an emotional finale in which Eve and Villanelle decided to walk away from each other and their dysfunctional ‘ will- t hey/ won’tthey’ relationship.
But although they agreed to ‘never look back’ after parting on London Bridge, both turned around – raising fans’ hopes that they might end up together in the end.
Production of the final season had been delayed because of the pandemic, but filming recently resumed, ready for the eight episodes to hit screens in the UK and America next year.
When the fourth series was announced, 49- year- old Ms Oh said: ‘Killing Eve has been one of my greatest experiences and I look forward to diving back into Eve’s remarkable mind soon.’
