‘Working together this year has been such a life-saver’

POP star Martin Kemp should expect a bumper Father’s Day present from son Roman today – after their double act made the young DJ a millionaire.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal that the Capital FM presenter’s bank account has swelled by seven figures thanks to several lucrative contracts, including one with Marks & Spencer and a weekend ITV show.

Sources close to the father and son say they are inundated with offers to star together in ad campaigns and endorsement deals. The pair have the e same agent, London-based Insanity y Group, where they are marketed to potential clients as a double act.

Nor are they the only father-and-son duo raking it in. The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh, 61, and his son Barney, 23, have made three series of reality show Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad. Meanwhile, comedian Jack Whitehall, 32, has a long-standing double act with his father Michael, 81.

Earlier this year, M& S hired the Kemps to model a menswear collection, which 28- year- old Roman has been sharing with his 1.4 million Instagram followers. Industry experts estimate the deal is worth £150,000. Spandau Ballet star Martin, 59, also teams up with his son for Martin & Roman’s Weekend Best, an ITV show broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays. They are reportedly each paid £10,000 an episode, with 22 screened last year and a further 44 planned for this year.

The pair also star on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox, earning £42,000 per series, and in March, they took part in ITV’s DNA Journey together.

Roman has said: ‘We’ve been so lucky. Working together meant we could see each other [during lockdown]. It was such a life-saver and something I’m really grateful for.’
