Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers

BBC1, 9pm

-

‘You never prepare yourself for losing him because he was always there,’ says Zara Tindall as she shares her memories of her grandfather Prince Philip (right). She’s just one of a dozen members of the Royal Family paying their respects to the Duke of Edinburgh in this landmark documentary, originally planned as a way of marking his 100th birthday but now a powerful tribute after his death at the age of 99 this year.

Among the other royals featured are Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry, who sums up the Duke, saying: ‘He was unapologetically “him”.’

Along with revealing archive footage, we also see where Philip worked for seven decades inside Buckingham Palace, while the staff who served him talk about the private side of the remarkable man they knew for many years.
