Cup triumph for Bielsa and Ryan

RACING: Leeds fan Kevin Ryan paid tribute to the Whites’ manager after saddling Bielsa to glory in the Ayr Gold Cup. Jockey Kevin Stott ploughed a lone furrow up the stands’ rails and it proved a masterstroke with the 15-2 chance getting up by two and a quarter lengths.

Trainer Ryan, who travelled down to Newcastle to see Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds draw 1-1 on Friday night, said: ‘Bielsa is a legend in Yorkshire and I’m glad we could honour his name here.’
