Caught in the act! Dan’s cheeky jig to sway viewers
STRICTLY hopeful Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya Bychkova have been caught doing a sneaky dance in an apparent attempt to curry favour with viewers.
While hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman explained how to vote at the end of last night’s show, the BBC Breakfast presenter and Ms Bychkova were caught on camera doing a little jig.
Some fans went on to social media to accuse them of doing it to ‘get attention’ while the audience decided on their favourite couple.
It has now emerged that Mr Walker, 43, and Ms Bychkova, 32, performed an unscheduled dance for fans on each of the past five weeks.
Mr Walker last night also took a swipe at Boris Johnson after the Prime Minister was accused of holding a party at No 10 last Christmas despite Covid restrictions.
Mr Walker, who had previously revealed that he had discussed Strictly Come Dancing with the Prime Minister, was asked if Mr Johnson admitted to watching the show and replied: ‘I’m not sure he is watching it on a Saturday night, (he’s) probably having a Christmas party or something.’ He also heaped praise on Ms Bychkova, saying: ‘I really respect the hard work she has put in to get there and I think, we enjoy each other’s company, she makes me laugh and I think she’d say she’s learnt a lot from me and I’ve learnt a lot from her.’
